Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at the foundation stone ceremony of the 250-bed Ayurvedic Super Specialty Hospital in Chandigarh.

In a significant stride towards integrating traditional medicine with modern healthcare, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria, laid the foundation stone for a 250-bed Ayurvedic Super Specialty Hospital in Chandigarh. This initiative commemorates the golden jubilee of Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College and Hospital (SDACH) and is backed by a ₹10 crore grant from the Ministry of AYUSH. The hospital aims to specialize in chronic spine disorder treatments, blending ancient Ayurvedic practices with contemporary medical techniques.

During the ceremony, several public health initiatives were launched, including a neonatal intensive care unit, free delivery programs, anti-rabies vaccination drives, and geriatric care services. Governor Kataria emphasized the importance of international collaborations to elevate Ayurveda's global standing, stating that such partnerships are crucial for integrating Ayurveda into worldwide healthcare systems. 

The event also featured a convocation where 135 students received their degrees, highlighting the institution's commitment to advancing Ayurvedic education and practice.
