Expansion of the VAANI Scheme
Building upon the success of its inaugural edition, AICTE has expanded the VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages) scheme to encompass more languages and emerging technical fields. Key highlights include:

Increased Language Coverage: The scheme now supports events in 22 regional languages, up from 12 in the previous edition.

Financial Support: Each selected event will receive up to ₹2 lakh, totaling an annual allocation of ₹4 crore.

Focus on Emerging Technologies: The number of technical fields covered has increased from 12 to 16, including areas like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Blockchain Technology, Healthcare Technologies, Environmental Engineering, Robotics & Automation, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), and Renewable Energy.
Objectives and Vision
AICTE Chairperson Prof. TG Sitharam emphasized that the VAANI scheme aims to establish a robust knowledge base in regional languages, ensuring that the latest technological advancements are accessible to local communities. The initiative encourages the publication of research papers in regional languages and fosters greater collaboration between academic institutions and industries.
Application Process
AICTE-approved institutions can apply for the scheme starting from March 25, with the application window open until April 24. Interested institutions can submit their applications through AICTE's official website.
