Top LeT Commander Altaf Lalli Killed in Bandipora Encounter Following Pahalgam Attack

In a decisive counter-terrorism operation, Indian security forces eliminated top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Altaf Lalli in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 25, 2025.
This action comes just days after the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which resulted in the loss of 26 civilian lives.

Acting on precise intelligence inputs, a joint team comprising the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation in the Kolnar Ajas area of Bandipora. Upon establishing contact, a fierce gunfight ensued, leading to the neutralization of Altaf Lalli. Two police personnel sustained injuries during the encounter and are currently receiving medical treatment, with their condition reported as stable.

Altaf Lalli was a significant figure within LeT, believed to have played a pivotal role in orchestrating attacks along the Line of Control and facilitating cross-border infiltration. His elimination marks a substantial achievement in India's intensified efforts to dismantle terror networks operating in the region.

The operation underscores the commitment of Indian security forces to respond swiftly and effectively to threats, ensuring the safety and security of the nation. As investigations continue, authorities remain vigilant, focusing on preventing further terrorist activities and bringing perpetrators to justice.
